In all honesty, you don't really need bread for this open breakfast sandwich, but if you have a keto roll around, or any of my sesame bread rolls, it will add to the depth of the flavors.
Ingredients:
Makes 1 serving
2oz bread cheese cut in half (I use Carr Valley)
2 skinless sausages (I use Nathan's)
1 egg (I use Vital Farms)
1T ghee (I use Vital Farms)
Half of my sesame bread rolls
1tsp organic grass-fed butter
Pink Himalayan salt
Pepper
How to:
- In a cast iron pan (or any other non-stick pan) add the ghee and let it melt.
- Cut the sausages lengthwise and add to the pan
- Fry your egg on the other side of the pan as your sausages are cooking
- When the egg is almost done, add the bread cheese and let me slightly melt
- Toast the roll to your liking
- Once your bread is all nice and toasty, add butter and assemble your sandwich. I put the cheese on top of my toasted bread, added the sausage and rested the egg over them.
- Enjoy with a nice cup of coffee! Perfection...

Notes:
1. If you don't use bread, you can still assemble your "sandwich" the same way, stack it up and enjoy!
2. You can use any type of sausage you like. I went with Nathan's on this dish because it's mild and doesn't overpower the rest of the flavors.
3. Bread cheese is very flavorful and does have a "bite" to it, so don't overheat it.
